Martina has a vast experience as a linguist and as an educator. She worked as a bilingual professional educator in school districts in Phoenix, Arizona and British schools in Argentina for over 20 years. As a linguist, Martina was responsible for the research and translation of instructional materials to make content comprehensible for students acquiring a second language. She translated books for children and thanks to her participation, one is now being downloaded as an app on a regular basis.
Early in her career, Martina served as a community interpreter. She facilitated parent teacher conferences, conducted home visits along with social workers and communicated in Spanish with parents to clarify misconceptions due to language barriers. Martina reached out to the community through weekly newsletters and communications that were translated into Spanish to better communication among communities.
Martina holds a Bachelor’s Degree as a Professor in Special Education from INSPEE, Instituto Nacional Superior para la Enseñanza Especializada, Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a highly qualified professional, she furthered her education in bilingual studies at ASU, Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona. She is an associate member of ATA, American Translators Association and the ATI, Arizona Translators and Interpreters, Inc. Martina is a volunteer for non-profit organizations.
